Outdoor Update and Upkeep Ideas for Fall
With football, pumpkins, apples and changing leaves, what is there not to love about the fall? It’s my favorite season. As we transition from summer to fall, here are some of Renew Crew’s update and upkeep ideas for you to consider this season.
As the leaves change, add some the colors of autumn to your outdoor décor. There are so many options that will make your home look more welcoming to friends and family. An update that’s easy but beautiful is to add a few pumpkins and bunches of mums to your front porch. Mums are available in yellows, oranges, and deep reds that look great! If you want something more involved, find a place to get some hay or dried cornstalk to dress it up.
With the fall comes early nighttime darkness. To provide sure footing and increase the safety and security of your property, you can invest in outdoor lighting. Just a few path lights can make a world of difference along the walkways leading up to your home. Our sister company, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, provides beautifully designed, installed and maintained landscape lighting systems.
While making updates to your front porch and adding lighting will make your home look better, outdoor maintenance is still important in the fall. In fact, it can be more important than other parts of the year. Fall is known for its beautiful changing leaves, but those leaves can cause issues when not dealt with properly. As they fall, leaves will begin to puddle moisture and dirt. If they aren’t swept off walkways, driveways, decks and patios, it can lead to deep stains. Sweeping off your outdoor living structures as well as picking up any sticks throughout the season will pay off in the long run.
When it comes to cleaning your outdoor surfaces, in many ways fall is the perfect time to do it. During the fall and winter, a lot of natural debris can come in contact with your outdoor surfaces and settle in its pores. At Renew Crew, we clean surfaces, but we also protect them. That protection is important in the winter as it will stop a lot of the dirt and grime from getting into your decks and patios, leaving you with a great looking space come spring.
