Updating the Outside of your Commercial Property
I was recently out of town and in need of a bank. I, of course, looked up the closest branch of my bank to see where to go. When I pulled up, however, I was surprised at what I saw. The building was dirty, the walkway was covered with leaves; it just didn’t look like a place that I wanted to be. Heck, it didn’t even look like it was in business. I looked up another bank a few blocks away to patron instead.

When it comes to businesses, it’s important that your customer or client feels comfortable on your property. If they don’t, they may take their business elsewhere. If you own or manage a commercial property, here are some maintenance tips to consider.

Clear off the walkways. Messy sidewalks not only make your property look unkempt, but they can also be dangerous, and you don’t want anyone injuring themselves on your property. Make sure that the walkways are cleared off regularly.

Pay attention to the landscaping. Landscaping can make a big difference in the appearance of any property, residential or commercial. Have some clippers on hand for any rouge branches that you notice. Pull weeds as they pop up and it won’t seem like a big project.

Touch up chips with paint. Paint chips, it’s natural, however, when a property has massive chipping it looks as if it isn’t well maintained. Keep a few test pots of paint on property to make any touch ups between any repainting projects. Key areas to pay attention to are railings and doors.

Clean the surfaces. Commercial properties probably require more outdoor surface cleaning than residential because of their reliance on clients. Once a year, have your walkways, gutters, building and other outdoor surface cleaned and protected. At Renew Crew, we pride ourselves on enhancing the appearance of your building by ridding the surfaces of built up dirt, mold, mildew and other grime.
